Cycling Attorney Craig Swapp JD

Attorney Craig Swapp JD

Personal Injury Attorney Craig Swapp has been cycling since 2009, enjoying both road and mountain biking.  “I started off with a simple aluminum road bike and soon discovered how much fun cycling can be,” Craig explains. “Since then, I’ve been impressed with how far cycling technology has come. That’s why I’ve graduated up to a Specialized S-Works. It’s an amazing bike to ride.”  In 2016, Craig decided to take up mountain biking, riding a Specialized Epic.  “I had a number of friends and family members who were big into mountain biking and finally decided to take the plunge and buy a full-suspension 29er.  I soon discovered mountain biking is challenging physically and mentally, but rewarding in terms of getting close to Mother Nature.  I’m blessed to live by some of the most incredible scenery and bike trails in the world and a mountain bike gives me the opportunity to experience it first-hand.”

Craig is dedicated to helping injured cyclists.  “As the owner and managing partner of Craig Swapp & Associates, I’ve gathered a select number of attorneys, paralegals and staff – many of whom actually cycle – to represent our injured cycling clients.  They fully appreciate the medical and legal challenges that cyclists have when involved in a vehicular accident. Usually injuries are severe, which requires our legal skills to ensure the cyclist is fully compensated for his or her injuries and damaged equipment. Sadly, it’s our experience that insurance adjustors do not understand the complexities of an accident between a cyclist and a motor vehicle.  It takes the help of an attorney experienced in both personal injury law and cycling to get the cyclist that full and fair settlement.”

He has dedicated his legal efforts to helping individuals who have been hurt or killed as the result of someone else’s negligence or wrong doing, including accidents involving cyclists, cars, commercial trucks, public transportation, motorcycles, and pedestrians. Craig graduated from the University of Utah College of Law in 1991 with a Juris Doctorate degree. While at the University of Utah College of Law, Craig served as a senior editor for the Journal of Contemporary Law. Craig also enjoyed and succeeded at his trial advocacy and moot court competitions. Upon graduating from law school Craig started his career with Siegfried and Jensen, a local personal injury firm. After five years with Siegfried and Jensen, Craig chose to leave that company to open his own firm which is now known as Craig Swapp & Associates.

Craig is married to his college sweetheart Susan and they are the proud parents of four daughters and one son. When he’s not cycling, Craig is an avid reader and loves to travel with his family.
